Vivaha Info OPC Pvt Ltd (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Abide in Christfaith community platform and other digital services (collectively, “our Services”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and applicable Indian law.

By using our Services or providing us with your information, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity data: full name and profile photograph you choose to provide when creating an account.
  • Contact data: mobile number and email address.
  • Community profile data: church name, denomination, and location you optionally share as part of your faith community profile on Abide in Christ.
  • Device & usage data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages visited, and feature interactions.
  • Communications: prayer requests, messages, or other content you post or send through Abide in Christ or to our support team.
  • WhatsApp & messaging data: when you opt in to receive communications via WhatsApp (powered by the WhatsApp Business API provided by Meta Platforms), we process your mobile number to send you account notifications, one-time passwords (OTPs), and service updates. We do not use WhatsApp to send unsolicited marketing messages.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected or for compatible purposes, including:

  • Creating and managing your account on Abide in Christ.
  • Enabling community features such as prayer requests, church engagement, and spiritual content.
  • Sending OTPs, account alerts, and service notifications via SMS, email, or WhatsApp.
  • Providing customer support and resolving disputes.
  • Improving and securing our platforms.
  • Complying with legal obligations under Indian law, including the DPDPA, IT Act, and any order of a competent authority.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. WhatsApp Business Messaging

We use the WhatsApp Business API (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to communicate with you when you have provided your mobile number and opted in to receive WhatsApp messages from us. Specifically, we may send:

  • One-time passwords (OTPs) for account verification.
  • Registration and profile status updates.
  • Important account notifications.

Your WhatsApp interaction data is also subject to Meta's Privacy Policy. We only share the minimum data necessary with Meta to deliver these messages. You may opt out of WhatsApp communications at any time by messaging “STOP” or by contacting us at info@vivaha.info.

5. Sharing Your Data

We share personal data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: cloud hosting, payment processors, SMS/email gateway providers, and identity verification services acting under strict data-processing agreements.
  • WhatsApp / Meta: solely to deliver WhatsApp messages you have opted into.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or a government authority.
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the same privacy protections.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it securely.

7. Your Rights Under DPDPA

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access — obtain a summary of your personal data we hold.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data, subject to legal and contractual obligations.
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see Section 10).
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent for processing at any time, which may affect your ability to use certain features.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. Notwithstanding these measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India.
